BiographyA native of Qiantang (present-day Hangzhou, Zhejiang province), the talented painter Lan Ying began his practice after the style of Yuan master Huang Gongwang, from whom Lan drew inspiration for both brushwork and theory throughout his life. Lan is usually considered the last representative of the academic Zhe school.
