More InformationThe helmet indicates that this is the head of a warrior. His forehead is rather low, and his eyebrows are separated and clearly defined. His accessories are ring-shaped earrings and a bead necklace. His upper lip and chin have been painted black, possibly to simulate a moustache, beard, or tattoos.
The features of this warrior, like those of most haniwa faces, were created by cutting out eyeholes and a mouth and by applying clay to indicate a nose and eyebrows.
