On View
Not on viewThis print portrays a young woman in a hot bath, wiping her face with a blue cotton towel decorated with a plum blossom pattern. Like other women Kotondo depicted, she is elegantly beautiful. The steamy atmosphere is expressed by swirling marks in the background made with a printer’s baren, a flat disk-shaped hand tool pressed against the back of the paper in the printing process.
