Not on viewIn the 196's this type of pot was identified as huangdao ware, named after the discovery of the kiln site in Jiaxian, Henan where it was produced. Tang suffused-glaze productions were carried out on blue, yellow, black, brown, light blue, or tea-dust grounds with light blue or pale gray mottlings. Although the shape is common among Henan wares (Shoudu Mus. 1991: pl. 12), this piece is original for its scintillating dark-toned speckles in deep blue drippings against a chocolate ground.
