On View
Not on viewPark Young Sook appreciates the traditions of the Joseon dynasty (1392–1910) for their ideals of order in society. For more than twenty years, Park’s focus has been on mastering Joseon whiteware, known for its simple and harmonious form. The artist’s versatility in handling clay and glaze allows her to replicate and further interpret whiteware traditions, including, for example, pushing the limits of the form by enlarging its size. Park’s nesting bowls utilize the traditional stamped technique found in Joseon buncheong wares.
