More InformationSome artists strive to express the natural affinity that exists particularly between bamboo and rocks. In this fan painting, the two elements are an interesting study of composition, line, and form. The dark, refined, clearly defined brushstrokes emphasize the movement of the three bamboo branches in the foreground, behind which lightly inked bamboo leaves and softly contoured rocks create the illusion of depth.
