Enter the Mandala

Mandalas are maps of Buddhist visionary worlds. For practitioners of meditation, mandalas are not just beautiful images to view, but worlds to enter. In this exhibition, fourteenth-century paintings transformed an open gallery space into an architectural mandala, a chance to literally “enter the mandala” to explore places in the cosmos—and perhaps ourselves—that might otherwise remain invisible.
