Jayashree Chakravarty

Jayashree was born in 1956.

Jayashree is based in Kolkata, India.

She finished her B.F.A , from Kala Bhavana, Viswa Bharati University, Shantiniketan and her Post-Diploma from the Faculty of Fine Arts of M.S University, Baroda. She was also an artist in residence at Aix en Provence between 1994 and 1995.

Jayashree has her works essentially concerning ecology and environment. The engaging weaving of colours brings in the fragile relationship between nature and mankind; between emotional, intellectual and conceptual and time and timelessness. Jayashree’s aesthetic taste has been exceptional in terms of creating her niche in the world of colours and art.
