This cabinet with a removable front cover contains six drawers. The front cover is decorated with sprays, including bush clover, with drops of water represented by metal. The drawers are embellished with chapter titles from The Tale of Genji, written by Murasaki Shikibu in the early eleventh century. This cabinet was intended to hold the fifty-four volumes of this novel.
