On View
Not on viewProfessor Chao Shao-an used to grow purple azaleas at his residence in Canton. In Hong Kong, the azaleas are mainly cinnabar red in color, but there also are white, yellow, pink, as well as purple ones. In the spring, the cinnabar-red azaleas bloom in the Hong Kong botanical Garden and present a magnificent sight as one drives up Garden Road.
Inscription: Xinhai year (1971), spring, third month; a time when the beauty and fragrance of the azalea flowers are at their peak. Chao Shao-an, at the Lingnan Art Studio.
