More InformationOne lone duck is shown sleeping on a spit of land surrounded by water in the interior bottom of this bowl. A floral scroll surrounds the interior rim. On the exterior of the body are depicted numerous lively ducks amid reedssome flying, some swimming, and others eating. The concave, glazed base bears a six-character mark in two columns. Typical of Jiajing period underglaze-blue, the color is lustrous, deep, and rich, the result of using imported cobalt.
