More InformationGlazed in white in the interior, this bowl's exterior was incised with a pair of dragons and two pearls surrounded by clouds and waves. The motif was colored in purple on a holly green glazed ground. Often used for imperial table sets, the dark-toned arrangement of two similar shades makes for a powerful and solemn effect (Palace Mus. 1989: 125).
