More Information
The conventional lotus motif was here painted in delicately shaded enamels with six panels enclosed by interlinked leaves forming a medallion on the interior bottom. Four friezes of large lotus sprigs with stylized leaf patterns and panels encircled the exterior. The intense use of the brilliant egg yolk yellow enamel for large areas is outstanding.
