More Information
This piece exemplifies fine Qing imperial ware imitating the Yuan imperial shufu style. Superb in technique, the eggshell-thin body was rendered with hidden decoration that can be observed only through the light: a snarling dragonet in a medallion on the interior bottom, a pair of dragons galloping in clouds on the sides, and the lotus panels encircling the exterior lower portion. The entire body was evenly glazed in a warm white, and it rests on a rounded footring edge.
