More Information
Since becoming a mother in 1993, a central motif of Pinaree Sanpitak's art has been the female body, which she relates to imagery of the natural world. Working across various mediums, her work often evokes fertility and sustenance through simplified forms recalling vessels, clouds, and the female breast. This painting features two of Sanpitak's signature "breast cloud" forms, one done in penciI and the other in acrylic brushstrokes that resemble grains of rice or drops of water. The breast clouds are connected by filaments to iris flowers.
