Yang Yongliang combines photography and new media techniques to construct landscapes that examine the effects of urban development on China. This work is a photograph of a collage made from images taken by the artist. Referencing Chinese painting traditions through the photo collage's scroll format and composition, yet constructed from present-day photographs, Yang's Artificial Wonderland #1 presents a landscape that is both real and imagined, old and new.
