More Information
This belt and ornamental back-hanging drapery would be worn over a male official’s robe, as seen in this photograph. As a part of an official robe set, the drapery indicates the rank of the owner by its arrangement of motifs and colors. Eight cranes in four rows signified first- and second-ranked officers during the Joseon dynasty.
