More InformationThis photograph, taken by the leading Indian photographer of his day, documents the sculptural details of the imposing tower located inside Chittor Fort. The monument, the Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame) dates to the thirteenth century and was dedicated to the Jain saint Adinatha. The sculpture on the tower's exterior includes standing figures of the great Jain teachers (tirthankaras). An internal staircase leads to a small pillared pavilion at the top.
