Frederick Bremner (active 1883–1923) came to India in 1883, working for a photography studio in Lucknow. Over the course of a forty-year career in British India, he opened his own studios in several cities in modern Pakistan. He was assisted in his work by Mrs. Bremner, whom newspaper ads referred to as especially helpful with purdah-observing ladies. Frederick Bremner retired to England in 1923.
