More InformationThe interior of this bowl is decorated with four horned animals, probably wild goats, that encircle a central star motif. This artistic conception goes back more than three thousand years to the pre-Islamic period in Iran. Interspersed among the animals is what appears to be writing in kufic script, but these marks are known as pseudo-kufic because they have no meaning and were used only as a form of decoration.
