On View
Not on viewSuch a crown was probably worn by a noblewoman or dancer at the court of Palembang in southeastern Sumatra.
A virtually identical crown, known from a publication, still has sprays of delicate metal flowers springing from several of its upper points. These appear to be attached by metal tabs at the back. The crown displayed here has tabs at the back of its points, and must originally have had similar flowers.
