More Information
The Bon tradition of Tibet is a religious system whose practices include shamanic religious phenomena. These practices include initiatory ordeals, meditative travel, and spiritual healing. Like the Buddha, this Bon figure sits in lotus position with hands folded in meditation. Accordingly, since Bon art exhibits many similarities with Vajrayana sculptures, they can be difficult to differentiate.
