More Information
Lhamo is the only goddess among the Defenders of the Faith. She is shown seated sideways on her mule, brandishing a staff and holding a blood-filled skull bowl. Lhamo is also the special protectress of the Dalai Lamas and the city goddess of Tibet's capital, Lhasa. The bull headed Yama, the God of death, is also a Defender of the Buddhist Faith. He treads on a bull and a human figure, symbols of ignorance and the human ego. His emblems are the club and snare.
