On View
Not on viewLeather plates were used in Tibet from the 8th century until the 15th and 16th century, when they were replaced by porcelain vessels imported from China. The motif shows a close affinity with Chinese designs, especially those associated with 15th-century porcelain and cloionné vessels, many of which were imported into Tibet.
