Description

Label:

INSCRIPTION:
Jiazi year (1984), early spring, shortly after a light rain.
Shao-an at the Lingnan Art Studio.

This sparse composition features a lone small chick opening his mouth toward the sky waiting to be fed. Since Chao Shao-an usually depicts birds perched atop tree branches, with their feet hidden from view, it is a rare treat to see his precise hand at painting chicken feet.
