From Stoneware to Buncheong Ware

This display case exhibits stoneware of the Unified Silla dynasty (668–935) and buncheong ware of the Joseon dynasty (1392–1910) decorated using the stamping technique. This technique covered a surface with repetitive stamped patterns and was efficient for high-quantity production and distribution. Stylistic variations depended on kiln site and region; however, the two most common stamped motifs, especially on buncheong ware, were chrysanthemums and rows of dots.
