More Information
The sun god holds the stems of two full-blown lotuses. He is shown riding his one-wheeled chariot, pulled by seven horses through the sky. His charioteer is Aruna, a god of the dawn. An equally elaborate Indonesian bronze sculpture of the sun god with his chariot and attendants can be seen in Gallery 8.
